The Advanced Professional Award in Construction Project Management Practice (APA–CPMP) is a progressive professional-development pathway for Construction Project Management Practice. It develops defined competencies through individual courses, integrates related competencies through four Core Performance Domains (CPDs), and advances professional performance through Course Capstones and a Final Integrated Professional Capstone.
STRUCTURED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
APA–CPMP translates the Spheres of Competence in Construction Project Management Practice Framework (SOC-CPMPF™) into a progressive professional-learning pathway. Individual courses organize defined Units of Competency (UOCs), while the four CPDs function as competency clusters through which related competencies are integrated and competence becomes measurable as professional performance.
Develop a focused area of construction project management competency through structured learning, application, and assessed UOC performance.
Complete all required courses and applicable UOCs within one CPD to earn the corresponding Certificate of Competence.
Earn all four Certificates of Competence, progress to professional competence, then complete the 11 Course Capstones and the Final Integrated Professional Capstone.
PROGRESSIVE CREDENTIAL PATHWAY
Each stage builds upon the professional learning and demonstrated performance achieved at the preceding stage.
Awarded following satisfactory completion of an individual Core Professional Course and its assessed UOCs.
Awarded following completion of all required courses and applicable UOCs within one Core Performance Domain competency cluster.
Awarded after all four cluster-level Certificates of Competence have been earned.
Awarded after completion of the Certificate of Professional Competence, all 11 Course Capstones, and the Final Integrated Professional Capstone.
CUMULATIVE PROFESSIONAL PROGRESSION
Progress from foundational competence to integrated professional performance. Each level builds upon the competencies and credentials achieved at the preceding level.
